What Is the VA Aid & Attendance (VetAssist) Program?
It’s an earned VA pension benefit that helps cover the cost of in-home assistance for qualifying veterans and spouses. Who Is Eligible for Veterans Home Care Benefits?
You may qualify for the VA’s Aid & Attendance pension (and home care through VetAssist) if you meet key pension:
Wartime Veteran
A veteran who served at least 90 days of active duty (with 1+ day during a wartime period).
Medical Need
You (or your veteran spouse) must need assistance with daily living due to disability or age – for example, help with bathing, dressing, mobility, meals, medication reminders, etc.
Financial Criteria
